This course provides an innovative tour d’horizon of the latest language learning technology, looking at the use of social media, apps, and the metaverse to teach and learn languages in the post-pandemic era. Teaching Korean digitally is done by mixing globally popular K-wave content with online learning for the first time ever. This course will consider how to build a metaverse for language learning using Zepeto and Roblox, question how the metaverse may affect language learning anxiety, or enjoyment, and ask how the next generation of language learning platforms might be built up.
